Two Men, Firearms and Marijuana in Chattanooga

Two men are facing a litany of charges after officers arrested them for trespassing in a vacant home with multiple firearms and a large amount of marijuana. Police responded to the 1100 block of Garfield Street on Friday afternoon and spoke with the 911 caller, a handyman who had been tasked by a landlord with changing the locks on a vacant home he owned there. However, when the man showed up to do the job, he found two men on the porch who told him they had bought the house and were living there. He also said he saw one of the men hand off a bag of what appeared to be marijuana to the occupants of a maroon-colored Ford Expedition that pulled up to the home. Read more here

A man who owned a house in Chattanooga sent a handy man out to change the locks on his vacant house. The handyman found two men, Summey and Heard, living there. The handyman called the police out to remove them from the house. The police ended up finding guns, drugs, and money in the house and seized all of it and charged the men with unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. The fact that these men were so brazen is very scary. They acted like they had every right to be at this house and didn鈥檛 think they were doing anything wrong. Hopefully the arrests will deter them from future crimes.
